The trick is to strike a <strong>happy medium<\/strong> &#8211; give them enough freedom to express their creativity during activities but in an organized framework with boundaries. It\u2019s quite a fun topic, actually. When heavy emotions or difficult situations arise, they find comfort in the consistency of some of these activities. \n<\/span><\/li><li><i class=\"ts-skincolor fa fa-caret-right\"><\/i>  <span class=\"ts-list-li-content\">rules and routines can be made exciting. A couple of techniques and some creativity will work wonders.  \n<\/span><\/li><li><i class=\"ts-skincolor fa fa-caret-right\"><\/i>  <span class=\"ts-list-li-content\">a well-thought-out routine becomes part of these kids' everyday life and may as well stay with them for a lifetime. You have the golden opportunity to enrich their personal lives outside their academic achievements. Depending on culture and age, students will react differently to certain routines; that\u2019s why we gathered as many examples as we could. It\u2019s important to give students a clear idea of when you all will move on to the next activity and what that requires them to do. Setting a timer for transitions is a very tangible way to let them know we\u2019re moving on to a new topic or activity. You put them all in a jar and keep them somewhere safe in the classroom. Each Wednesday, as a warm-up or cool-down activity, a student gets to pick one piece of paper out of the jar randomly.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Friday Wraps <\/span>&#8211; What happened this week? Let\u2019s wrap it up!
