You improve your teaching skills by <strong>learning from experienced educators<\/strong> who have been in your shoes one day.\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text]<h3 style=\"text-align:left;\" class=\"ts-custom-heading \" >CELTA<\/h3>\n[vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CELTA is a certificate to <strong>teach English as a second language to adults,<\/strong> however, the course does include the topic of teaching younger learners, so if your goal is to teach children, it could be a great option. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CELTA from Cambridge is a widely recognized English teaching qualification in the world and the most often requested by employers. <strong>It focuses on developing practical techniques and includes face-to-face or online teaching practice.<\/strong> It\u2019s a tough ride, but one definitely worth taking. <\/span>[\/vc_column_text]<h3 style=\"text-align:left;\" class=\"ts-custom-heading \" >TEFL<\/h3>\n[vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TEFL courses (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u00a0can be used anywhere in the world<\/strong> to teach English to non-English speakers. The perfect lesson plan ensures that you\u2019re prepared for any challenge and unexpected issues that may arise when giving your classes. What you spend hours on at the beginning will soon become automatic, as the system that you use to build your lessons quite literally becomes a mindset. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Let me share with you my favorite lesson plan structure for teaching English as a second language:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will need the following: <\/span>[\/vc_column_text]<ul class=\"ts-list ts-list-style-icon ts-list-icon-color-skincolor ts- ts-icon-skincolor ts-list-textsize- ts-list-icon-library-fontawesome solution-list\"><li><i class=\"ts-skincolor fa fa-caret-right\"><\/i>  <span class=\"ts-list-li-content\"><strong>A piece of paper or a notebook<\/strong> - of course, you can do all this on your laptop, but at first, I find it useful to have a hand-on-hand experience with the planning process<\/span><\/li><li><i class=\"ts-skincolor fa fa-caret-right\"><\/i>  <span class=\"ts-list-li-content\"><strong>ESL resources<\/strong> - a textbook of your choice\/other ESL resources that you want to use such as stories, digital books, worksheets, printables, etc. <\/span><\/li><\/ul><ul class=\"ts-list ts-list-style-icon ts-list-icon-color-skincolor ts- ts-icon-skincolor ts-list-textsize- ts-list-icon-library-fontawesome solution-list\"><li><i class=\"ts-skincolor fa fa-caret-right\"><\/i>  <span class=\"ts-list-li-content\"><strong>Aim of the lesson:<\/strong> Try not to overthink this part. Don\u2019t try to teach too much too fast, one or two goals for one class are more than enough. \n<\/span><\/li><li><i class=\"ts-skincolor fa fa-caret-right\"><\/i>  <span class=\"ts-list-li-content\"><strong>Materials:<\/strong>  List the materials used with the exact task, book, worksheet, and\/or song.\nThink about what you need to do before starting the lesson: printing, downloading etc. \n<\/span><\/li><li><i class=\"ts-skincolor fa fa-caret-right\"><\/i>  <span class=\"ts-list-li-content\"><strong>Timing: <\/strong> write down how much time you expect to spend with each activity. It\u2019s okay if it doesn\u2019t exactly go as planned - no student, class, or day is the same - but use it as a compass. \n<\/span><\/li><li><i class=\"ts-skincolor fa fa-caret-right\"><\/i>  <span class=\"ts-list-li-content\"><strong>Potential pitfalls: <\/strong> I know we should always focus on the positive, however for this part, I find it useful not to. Predicting where we might face difficulties can save us from headaches afterwards. Better safe than sorry. \n<\/span><\/li><\/ul>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=&#8221;technology-is-your-friend&#8221;][vc_column]<h2 style=\"text-align:left;font-size:32px;color:#1e3466;font-family:'Nunito',Arial,Helvetica;font-weight:700;\" class=\"ts-custom-heading \" >4. Technology is your friend<\/h2>\n[vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technology just cannot be overlooked &#8211; the world is changing and so is education. As conventional educational materials are still essential, <strong>new methods and tools are proving to be more effective with the new generation of readers<\/strong> and generation Z learners especially.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Digital tools can help you in different ways: <\/span>[\/vc_column_text]<ul class=\"ts-list ts-list-style-icon ts-list-icon-color-skincolor ts- ts-icon-skincolor ts-list-textsize- ts-list-icon-library-fontawesome solution-list\"><li><i class=\"ts-skincolor fa fa-caret-right\"><\/i>  <span class=\"ts-list-li-content\"><strong>Administration<\/strong><\/span><\/li><\/ul>[vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>We tend to overlook the importance of effective time management.<\/strong> Administrating, evaluating, grading tasks and keeping up with homework for all your groups and students seems like a small part of your job, but it can consume more time and energy than we realize. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>There are amazing tools<\/strong> on the market with the main feature as being admin platforms, or as part of another tool.\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text]<ul class=\"ts-list ts-list-style-icon ts-list-icon-color-skincolor ts- ts-icon-skincolor ts-list-textsize- ts-list-icon-library-fontawesome solution-list\"><li><i class=\"ts-skincolor fa fa-caret-right\"><\/i>  <span class=\"ts-list-li-content\"><strong>Engagement<\/strong><\/span><\/li><\/ul>[vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learners today <strong>need a lot more to engage<\/strong> all their senses than before. This <strong>digital generation is used to sound effects, animation and even interactivity<\/strong> when learning &#8211; so why not find a tool that was made especially for their need. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re struggling with keeping their attention, it\u2019s not you, it\u2019s just that <strong>education and learning styles have changed due to technological developments<\/strong>. <\/span>[\/vc_column_text]<ul class=\"ts-list ts-list-style-icon ts-list-icon-color-skincolor ts- ts-icon-skincolor ts-list-textsize- ts-list-icon-library-fontawesome solution-list\"><li><i class=\"ts-skincolor fa fa-caret-right\"><\/i>  <span class=\"ts-list-li-content\"><strong>Authentic context<\/strong><\/span><\/li><\/ul>[vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learning a language is most effective using authentic context. And while we cannot take our students to live in English speaking countries yet, <strong>we can bring the native context to the classroom<\/strong>.
