The solution offers a 2-in-1 platform: a safe, ad-free, easy-to-use gamified Library application for students, coupled with a Teacher\u2019s Dashboard displaying real-time statistics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

(1) The Library app is available for smartphones, tablets and desktops. It offers 1000+ digital e-books, 4000+ games and 200+ flashcards in English for children, from beginner to intermediate level. Every storybook provides a complex and engaging learning experience thanks to curated texts, illustrations, animations, interactions, sound effects, authentic narration, text-highlighting and educational games. To help you find the appropriate reading level for students, BOOKR Class uses built-in Lexile placement tests.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

(2) The Teacher\u2019s Dashboard allows teachers to recommend books to students, assign homework and examine and export data regarding student performance. The books are all categorized and each book has a recommended age range (0-8, 6-10, 8-12, 10-14, 12-16) to guide our users. When selecting and composing the texts, different topics and genres are included to showcase the diversity of the English language.<\/p>\n

Upon first opening, the Library offers students to fill out a Lexile-based placement test. If completed, the result will place the student to one of the 9 BOOKR levels. As a teacher you can find the student\u2019s exact measure in the Teacher\u2019s Dashboard, and assign them a new test, optionally with a deadline.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, a CEFR-based adaptive placement test is also available for students to fill out and be placed to one of the 9 BOOKR levels. The \u201cBOOKR test\u201d real-time adapt to the students\u2019 ability based on their answers and adjust the difficulty of the upcoming questions, creating a personalized quiz. It evaluates reading and listening comprehension, grammar and vocabulary.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Both placement tests can be accessed in the Test Center and completed any number of times.\u00a0 <\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is the Lexile Measurement system?” tab_id=”1622352591542-590ac9d9-7adb” el_class=”b18strong_black”][vc_column_text el_class=”b16regular_black”]A Lexile learner measure is a numeric representation of a learner\u2019s ability to read English. Quite simply, a Lexile Measure is an assessment that provides a way to measure a student\u2019s English reading ability or the difficulty of a text. It is a useful tool for educators, administrators, and parents. Measures fall on an intuitive scale, with beginners or easy texts at the bottom and moving up as students and texts advance.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lexile scale is a developmental scale ranging from beginning learner measures below 0L (at most BR 400L) to above 1600L for advanced abilities. The higher the learner\u2019s Lexile measure, the greater their ability to read English. More than 35 million learners from 180 countries around the world have received a Lexile measure.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What Lexile scores do the BOOKR Class levels correspond with?” tab_id=”1622444027363-a28c0e81-62af” el_class=”b18strong_black”][vc_column_text el_class=”b16regular_black”]Based on the student\u2019s Lexile score the application will recommend books that are in the student\u2019s Lexile range.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When a student measure and a book measure are the same, the match is estimated to be ideal for the learner – not too easy that a student is bored and not too difficult that they experience frustration.<\/span><\/p>\n

The target range that is suggested for a learner is 100L below the student measure and 50L above.<\/span><\/p>\n

So a 500L learner finding books within their targeted range (400L to 550L) will help them practice and grow as long as they read consistently and challenge themselves.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is the BOOKR Test and how does it work?” tab_id=”1737017951639-c64fc602-dd60″ el_class=”b18strong_black”][vc_column_text el_class=”b16regular_black”]The BOOKR Test is a CEFR-based, adaptive placement test that is designed to assess the English skills of non-native speakers. Adaptiveness means that the test adjusts its difficulty based on how the student answers each question. If they get a question right, the next one will be a bit harder; if they miss it, the following question will be a little easier. This way, the test quickly zeroes in on their exact level of proficiency without overwhelming or underchallenging them. This method is based on Item Response Theory (IRT), which basically means that the test is smart enough to adapt to the child\u2019s skills in real-time, offering test items for the right level of difficulty each time.<\/span><\/p>\n

This system is aligned with the <\/span>Common European Framework of Reference for Languages <\/span><\/a>(CEFR), a globally recognized standard for measuring language proficiency across various learning contexts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike the Lexile Placement Test that only measures reading ability, the BOOKR Test covers a broad range of skills: reading, listening, grammar, and vocabulary \u2013 giving a complete picture of where each learner stands.<\/span><\/p>\n
